The one-line difference
Each neighbor watches something real. The distinction is in what is being watched.
| Watches | Starts when | Stops at | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Affirmation Search | The answer a person gets once the name is in the question | Any time someone searches the name | It does not stop. It is read again next month |
| Branded search | How many people looked up the name and what they clicked | A name is typed | The click, since it counts visits rather than what was said |
| SEO | Whether a page is found for a need, such as roofers near me | A person is looking for somebody | The point where the person already has the name |
| Review management | One source: the review profile | A review arrives | Everything a star rating cannot show |
| Reputation management | A specific damaging item | After a complaint or a crisis is visible | When that item is handled |
Branded search, the closest cousin
By query they overlap almost entirely. Every Affirmation Search carries the name, so a marketer would call each one branded. The difference is the view. Branded search is read from the company's own data. An Affirmation Search can happen on an AI platform where the company has no data at all and no click ever lands.
SEO
SEO earns the search for a stranger. This begins after the stranger has a name. A page can rank first and still say nothing the person would believe.
Review management
A review is one witness, not the whole record. The platform that hosts reviews also decides how they are ranked and what sits beside them.
Reputation management
It is triage, and triage is a real job. This is a standing reading that runs on the quiet days too.
